BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING MINUTES
MONDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2011
ATTENDANCE: Library Trustees: Gordon Doig, Leone Michalec, Steve Hicks, Elton Lee
Library Director: Debbie Benedict
The meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m. at the Meagher County City Library.
The September 13, 2011 meeting minutes stand approved as presented with the following corrections:
Change: “It was moved by Leone and seconded by Elton and unanimously carried to separate the Donald W. Johnston funds from Library Depreciation funds” to “It was moved by Leone and seconded by Elton and unanimously carried to separate the Donald W. Johnston funds and Library Depreciation funds from the Meagher County General Fund.”
Change: “Debbie will prepare a newspaper ad to recognize Rooney Construction, Tintina Resources, Inc. and Gordon, Elton and Steve’s work on the library paint project, which the county will pay for.”
to “Debbie will prepare a newspaper ad to recognize Rooney Construction and Tintina Resources, Inc. work on the library paint project, which the county will pay for.”
It was moved by Leone and seconded by Steve and unanimously carried to approve bills as presented for payment.
Library Sign Update
Elton has taken the lead on the library sign project coordinating with Logan Pierce on the 4’x4’sign construction targeted for completion in November. Sign posts will be purchased from Rooney’s then sanded and painted. Steve has post-hole diggers to use in digging post holes prior to the ground freezing. The project will be completed in stages with planned purchase and installation of solar lights and a possible Plexiglass fixture to display library hours.
Backroom Shelving Update
Elton plans to complete construction of backroom shelving in November.
Library Foundation Update
501c3 paperwork has been submitted with special thanks to Leone for providing form oversight, financial information and final review of the document prior to submission.
Broad Valleys Federation
Elton gave a brief report on the Broad Valley Federation conference call he participated in during Debbie’s absence.
Worker’s Compensation-Volunteers
Debbie will submit volunteer hours to the courthouse via a monthly timesheet for each individual who operates the circulation desk in her absence.
Librarian Report
Debbie provided copies of the Librarian Report, which is on file at the library.
Date of Next Meeting
The next board meeting is scheduled for November 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the library.
There being no further library business to discuss, it was moved by Elton and seconded by Leone and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 p.m.
