Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library was established in 2009. For the last several years (thru 2017), Friends has run a very successful used book sale during the Red Ants Pants Music Festival in July. In addition, there is another sale on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. Also, Friends have used book sale shelves in several locations in town and in the county.
Funds from the sales are used to fund the summer reading program, bring speakers into the community, and in 2017 to fund a portion of the cost of a storage shed for the Library. One year we funded a subscription for online classes that were then free to library patrons. The Friends received a Red Ants Pants Foundation Grant in 2017 to purchase a media projector for library and community programs.
New members are always welcome. For more information, call Betsy at 547-3381.

Heavy Construction Finished
Rooney's Quality Construction completed the heavy construction necessary to have the "back room" refurbished and become a usable space. As you can see it provides a nice large area to serve as the Montana room, separating it from the computer room and becoming a refuge for contemplation, reading, or research. Friends of the Library purchased wingback chairs and Elton Lee constructed a pair of tables [one visible] for patron use while visiting the library.
[Please note: The carpet and wall are not stained, but a result of stitching together the three photos in making the panorama.]

Matching Chairs
Melinda Vennard and Edna Dracon took it upon themselves to 'ROAD TRIP' down to Livingston where two matching wing backed chairs were found and purchased by the Friends of the Library. It was determined that both chairs needed new upholstery. Matching fabric choosen, Carol Berg went to work and finished the job expertly and in a timely fashion.
